MPC explores the sync landscape in Latin America with CREATE Mexico b2b trade mission

Music Publishers Canada entered the Latin American music market again during its CREATE trade mission in Mexico City from February 23 to 26, 2025. The trade mission included a delegation of 13 of our member music publishers with a focus on how to succeed in sync.

For the first time, MPC also invited four Canadian music supervisors to join the delegation to give insights into best practices in sync, and to promote song catalogue discoverability in both markets. We were also pleased to be joined by Tanya van Luven, SOCAN’s Director of Publisher Relations, who was there to connect with our members and Mexican stakeholders.

Delegates were able to gain a deeper understanding of the Latin American market, one of the fastest growing digital streaming music markets, and develop new business relationships in Mexico for sync pitching, sub-publishing, and co-writing.

Highlights of the mission included private Meet the Music Supervisors B2B meetings at the Canadian Embassy, a mixer with key Mexican industry contacts, a private publishers’ meeting with Mexico’s PRO (SACM), an educational presentation and mixer with EMMAC (Mexico’s music publishers association) and a day of discussions about the Latin American market that included topics such as a Spotlight on Mexico, A&R insights presented by music publishing companies in the region, and the particular needs of the Latin American sync market.

CREATE B2B trade missions connect music publishers with key business and creative contacts in global markets. CREATE Mexico began on Sunday, February 23 with a mixer sponsored by SOCAN and continued with three days of programming.
