CREATE Berlin

In February 2023, MPC travelled with a delegation of Canadian screen composers and music publishers to Berlin, Germany for the European Film Market at Berlinale as part of the CREATE Berlin trade mission. The delegation was made up of MPC members, composers from the Screen Composers Guild of Canada (SCGC), and Women In The Studio alumna La-Nai Gabriel.

Delegates participated in an in-person instalment of MPC's popular Meet The Music Supervisors event hosted at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin. German music supervisors from film, television, and advertising outlined how the German market functions and explained the projects that they are working on. The delegation then participated in 1:1 pitch sessions with the individual music supervisors. Special thanks to music supervisor Asha Edwards for helping to coordinate this event. Delegates also attended Nordic Film Days at the Nordic as well as European Film Market b2b activities.
